Get the best out of your Bop Baby suction plate with these simple steps!
- First, clean the eating surface thoroughly to ensure effective suction. Avoid using baby wipes as they can leave residue. Remember to ensure a firm bond by making sure surfaces are free of scratches, dirt, and soap before attaching.
- Press firmly aka "BOP" our Panda's nose. This expels the air from our unique suction pad creating a firm connection to your surface. Playful "bops" throughout the meal ensure ongoing suction power.
- Our suction plates work best on smooth, non-porous surfaces like plastic, granite, glass. Wooden surfaces that are unfinished, textured, porous, or have slight curves may not provide lasting suction to the same level.
- Our attachment straps can be easily looped onto the plates handle and attached to cutlery or cups to prevent them going overboard.
Unfortunately, the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair tray is not recommended for suction-based products.

Why are we pre-selling the Bop Baby?
This early Pre-order sales enables us to gauge the demand for the Bop Baby Suction Plate. Manufacturing a brand new product is a huge investment for a small business, so it's important to us to be sure that the expected demand is high. We only want to put baby products into the world that parents really want. By pre-ordering today, you are supporting the launch of this innovative new product.
What if we don't achieve the minimum sales amount?
The Bop Baby Suction Plate has been carefully designed with the needs of parents and little ones in mind. If we don't meet the minimum funding requirement for the first production run, all purchases will be fully refunded (minus £1 charitable contribution) and provided with a 20% discount voucher for our site.
How does the real Bop Baby Suction Plate differ from the prototype shown on The Big Idea Works?
Since we filmed the show a year ago, we have been testing the design in line with our original drawings and have made the following improvements from the early prototype shown on the Big Idea Works
- Our patented Bop Bear shape! The final suction plate is a cute bear shape engaging for mealtimes with our signature "bop" nose
- We have used high quality, food-grade silicone for the final design which is baby safe and easy to use. The show prototype used tin and industrial rubber for the suction pad (a tile remover!) so unsuitable for little mouths and hands.
- Per our original design sketches, we've included the no-drop bungee strap handle on the side of the plate
- As much as we loved the sticky tablemat on the show, the reality is that little hands peel and pull, so we decided not to bring the mat part of the show to life
In summary, we've taken the learnings from the show's prototype and applied them to the realities of baby mealtimes.
What happened with the suction magic mat?
After much testing, we decided not to proceed with the magic tablemat as demonstrated in The Big Idea Works. Seems babies and little ones are clever enough to work out that with one tug of the magic mat, they can dislodge the suction plate.
Anything else I should know?
We may make minor changes to the design to improve and optimise performance so it's the best it can be! Colours may vary slightly from images shown.
Is the Bop Baby refundable?
Bop Baby pre-orders are non-refundable as this commitment is crowdfunding the first-run manufacture. However, if we don't reach the minimum funding requirement, we will refund all purchases (minus the £1 charity contribution) and provide a 20% discount voucher for our website.
